I recommend chasing as many dimming zones as possible on the most modern series as possible.
Oled vs qled bright room.
Qled although oled isn t terrible in this regard.
Which is better in bright rooms.
Samsung does make oled smartphone panels and the company recently announced it would start building new tv panels based on a hybrid of qled and oled known as qd oled but it will be a few more.
More crucial even than 4k vs 8k or sony vs samsung oled vs qled is a question of what truly makes a premium picture the self emissive delights of oled or the high brightness and quantum dot.
The exception is that qled works better in bright rooms and is made in larger sizes than most oled tvs while costing less at a given size.
While its individually lit pixels aren t quite as eye popping in a bright room oled tv tends to be a more balanced experience in darker environments.
Again if you mostly watch tv at night or in a darkened room this won t be a deal breaker for you.
Some rooms are just naturally bright and there are indeed instances when you want to enjoy a movie during the daytime.
The price might be though.
Tvs using emissive technologies i e where the pixels provide their own lighting can only produce so much light before picture quality is affected and burn in occurs but this isn t a probl.
So qled all the way.
Ordinarily i d recommend an oled anyways but glare is just the worst.
What to choose in a bright room.
Oled tvs deliver pristine image quality and amazingly wide viewing angles but qled sets deserve your attention because of their brilliant colors and sheer value.
If you ve seen a qled next to an oled in a bright show room it s plainly obvious that the qled beats both the competition and the lighting.
